Decodame.com began originally as my Interior Design – Project
Management Firm, ‘Premier Designs’ in 1985.
I have worked in interior,
architectural and custom furniture design since 1982.
We are a full service
interior design studio, involved in all aspects of custom home design.
In addition to my own
designs, I have designed and drawn numerous contract working drawings for
other local interior designers and contractors, specializing in custom
furniture, built-ins and elaborate media center/theater rooms. I have also
designed custom kitchens, baths, dream closets and all other living and
working areas.
Prior to working
specifically in design, I ran my family business’, based in Detroit and Ann
Arbor, Michigan. Both locations were involved in residential and commercial
construction.
My education is in art,
space planning, design, drafting and architecture. I have experience in all
aspects of building or remodeling a custom home. I began designing custom
furniture and fireplace surrounds when I was just 12 years old, interior
design is a natural fit for me.
This year, we will be introducing a new collection of my own designs,
many inspired by Art Deco and Modernist creations from the past. I will be
incorporating unique designs with thoughtful function ideas for today’s
lifestyle. We will be offering and exclusive custom furniture and modernist
area rug collection.
We are based in Naples, FL. I have been a full time resident of Naples for
20 years. I have worked on projects nationwide. Now specializing in the
upscale custom home market, I have assembled a talented team, able to offer
a wide variety of specialized design services for commercial projects.
Our design team
The design team in Naples consists of myself, and the many
talented artisans I have worked with over the last 20 years, each having
their own specialty, ensuring the best possible quality for our clients.
My job is to design and
incorporate the client’s dream into reality. I check the job and give it the
final stamp of approval, also resolving any problems along the way. From
initial concept through completion, I always keep the client’s final vision
in mind.
Our local team of craftsmen and artisans create our custom designs in wood,
glass and metal. We’ve also added a fabrics
area to this site. These fabrics are only available through the design
trade. We select and offer fabrics appropriate to modernism designs, but are
always happy to help search for just the right fabric, should you not see it
on the site.
We also have contacts in Europe, searching over antique or special furniture
pieces that we are looking for to complete our projects. We seek out any
specialized building materials needed for the project. Our Euro team
consists of highly experienced antique experts with established contacts,
bringing our customers the best Europe has to offer. We then import the
collections to the USA.
While in the shopping
process, other pieces are purchased to sell in the U.S. These pieces are for
our clients to select from as well as being sold to other customers,
designers and antique dealers. These are the pieces you see on this website.
Over the years we have
offered a wide range of merchandise from specific design periods: Biedermeier,
Baroque, Empire, Numerous French (Louis) periods, Art Nouveau, Art Deco,
Forties Moderne, Mid-Century Modern, and Contemporary. We do our best to
select the best examples possible from these iconic design periods to
furnish your space, whether it be in a specific style, or an eclectic mix of
design periods.
We sell: furniture, lighting, decorative objects, fine art,
architectural artifacts & antiques,
designer fabrics, estate jewelry, vintage
designer costume jewelry and offer a full service design studio.
Once the furniture pieces
arrive in Florida, they are then expertly restored, if needed, by our
trained European craftsmen. We work closely with many craftsmen and
artisans with whom we have had years of successful working experiences.
Our Mission
Although our own home is designed and decorated in a modern-French Art Deco,
we enjoy the challenge and diversity of deigning in different styles and
incorporating our clients’ ideas with our own. We feel there are beauty and
fine examples in every style created. We do our best to research and
incorporate those styles with the essential design basics and functionality
needed to pull a successful project together.
We are happy to work with our clients existing favorite pieces,
incorporating them with the new design elements. Our goal is to create a
comfortable, functional, beautiful environment for our clients. An
atmosphere that evokes a feeling of truly being at home, making each project
a unique and personalized environment for each client.
We believe that everyone has their own personal style, and your home should
reflect that style, not the style of the designer alone.
From concept through
completion, our team can design and create the residential or commercial
space the client desires. We handle all details and problems that arise
during the process, allowing the clients to relax, leave the worries to us –
keeping this and exciting, fulfilling experience for our clients.
With over 25 year’s experience, we are thoroughly versed in the
design/construct/decorating process.
