Figural Equestrian Statue
Circa 1930's, Limousin, France

Wonderful Figural bronze sculpture
depicting two ladies hunting on horseback.
One lady has a horn of bakelite, the other, a polished bronze bow.
The polished bronze horses are leaping, the ladies have the wind in
their hair.
The polished bronze ladies ladies are wearing flowing scarves and
dresses,
painted in the classic pale green colors used in the 1930's.
This sculpture displays a wonderful, carefree movement.
Incised signature on the black
marble base: Limousin, which is a beautiful region in France,
known for artists who created in metal, ceramics and glassware.
Artist unknown,
but in the manner of Charles, who loved equestrian themes.
Dimensions: 32 3/4" wide overall (29
5/8" wide marble base only), 16" high, 7 1/4" deep.
Condition: In excellent original
condition, showing little paint wear. Patina intact.
The original marble base has flea bites consistent with age.
