Olympian Male Bronze Statue

Dramatic statue featuring an
athletic male wearing only a headband and loincloth.
Signed on the black porto marble base, G. Daverny. Foundry: Editions
Reveyrolis, Paris.
Beautiful verdigris patina.
Daverny was a sculptor during the
Art Deco era whose pieces are very rare.
Little is known about this artist, however the graceful nature of
the figural pieces show skill and artistry.
Daverny created two Diana statues, one with a bow, sometimes alone,
sometimes with her target, a leopard.
The leopard was also offered alone. The other Diana statue has her
running with three Ibexes.
All were created by the same foundry, Editions Reveyrolis,
Paris-known to manufacture bronzes
by many other Art Deco artists such as D.H. Chiparus.
This statue is Numbered 3 on the
underside of 1 foot. (not visible)
A very high quality and heavy bronze statue.
Please note; this statue will be shipped disassembled for safety.

5 1/4" deep.
Condition: In excellent original
condition. original patina intact.
