Modernist Iron Artisan Console Table
Circa 20th Century, South Africa

 

Unique and sculptural console table of beautifully patinated iron.
The finish was hand applied and has a look of soft bronze and brown tones.
Although very heavy in weight, the design is open and light.
Front legs are round and compliment the semi-demi lune
front profile that has a gentle curve. Flat back profile at wall.
The back legs are triangular and like the front, taper to the floor.
It fits into a Modernist, Contemporary, or Art Deco décor,
but I also see this in even a very traditional décor, with a fusion of exciting art.

Artisan made by hand in South Africa, this is the only table like this we have.

Dimensions:  63 ½” wide at front, 61 ¼” wide at back.
15 5/8” deep, 32” high. Top thickness: 2”
Front legs are round and tapered, from 2 5/8 to 1” at floor.
Back legs are triangular in shape and taper from 2 7/8” to 5/8” at floor.

Condition: Excellent original condition as the artist intended.
