This stunning low height
vitrine was skillfully crafted with elaborate marquetry inlay work,
featuring butterflies,
acorns, squirrels and flowers on the side columns.
Elaborate cross hatched marquetry work on the lower doors
with framed inlaid mother of pearl dot pattern.
Architectural profile on the raised base, with nickel plated trim details.
Black Lacquered trim frames display area, top and base.
Beautifully constructed with an upper glass front display with by-pass glass doors,
mirrored interior to display china or collectables. Lower storage,
ideal for dishes or table linens.
Could also be used as a dessert cabinet, toiletries cabinet or bookcase.
Can be used in an entry way as a high console.
This vitrine has
just been restored with a
New French lacquered finish,
new mirror/ glass, with all hardware re-plated.

Huge Streamline
Art Deco Style custom cabinet, made of exotic Macassar Ebony, a wood species favored by Ruhlmann in
the 1930's. Over 10 feet wide!
Back panels of the open display could easily be lighted
and mirrored for a more dramatic display.
Provenance: This Art Deco Style Cabinet was originally made in France, for a fan
of Streamline Art Deco who was also a collector of antique and vintage toy trains. He would display a portion of his toy train collection on the glass
shelves and store his remaining collection in the 45 drawers below,
and rotate the collection on display from time to time.
Of course this grand cabinet can be
used to display a variety of items or collections; Jewelry, Pottery and china, shells, comic books...whatever your
passion. Adjust the shelves just right and you may use this for a LCD or
Plasma TV and your audio equipment, making a fabulous entertainment cabinet.
