Exceptional French Art Deco
Bedroom suite In Macassar Ebony with 'Lilly of the valley' inlay detail.
Elegant sweeping foot design with cast bronze sabot feet & hardware.
All
Four pieces (armoire, bed, pair of nightstands ) are signed by Gauthier
Poinsignon.
Restored with a high gloss French lacquered finish.

Please note that the high
gloss finish makes photography difficult,
as reflections will occur and make the color appear uneven.
Rest assured, the finish is clear and stain color is consistent.

Suite includes:
-Large Macassar Ebony
French Art Deco Armoire with center mirrored door and lily of the valley
inlay.
Interior with shelves and drawer. Can be retro fitted to suite your needs.
Bronze sabot feet .
Signed on base, Gauthier Poinsignon. The right door opens to a hanging area
attached to a single shelf.
This is adjustable and more (new-custom) shelves can be added to this side.
The right side door opens and center door opens to reveal double width
adjustable shelves.
One shelf has a key locking under mount drawer. Original beveled mirror.
Armoire Dimensions:
80” wide, 74 ½” high, 12 ¾” deep.
Interior Dimensions: 19” deep, 61” high. Right side: 26” wide. Left side
50 ¼” wide.
Beveled Original mirrored door: 23” wide, 61” high. Right and left doors: 25
¾” wide, 61 ¼” high.
- Pair of marble topped
French Art Deco Macassar Ebony Nightstands, each with 4 drawers.
Curved front with raised curved foot. Bronze sabot feet and drawer pulls.
Signed on top edge, Gauthier Poinsignon. Neutral Beige-tan original marble
tops.
Nightstand Dimensions: 21 ¼” wide, 27” high, 12 ¾” deep.
Drawer interiors are each 3” high, 15 3/8” wide and 10” deep.
- Complete Macassar Ebony
French Art Deco Queen Size bed; headboard, footboard and side rails;
just converted from a European double size to an American Queen Size.
Expertly done, wood was added before restoration to the ends of the center
design,
between the edge and foot. Lily of the Valley inlay detail on the footboard.
Curved profile and raised panel design. Signed, Gauthier Poinsignon on the
trim of the footboard.
Bed Dimensions: 63 ½”
wide overall, 84 ½” deep overall. 44” high headboard,
26” high footboard. Side rails are 5” high, and 9 ½” off the floor when in
place.
The interior dimensions for the (American Queen size) mattress are: 60 ¼”
wide, 80 ¾” deep
(from head to foot board). The headboard bottom (of design) is 24” off the
floor.
The space between the floor and the wood bottom edge is 5 ¾” high.
Then 17 ¼” high of unfinished wood, that will be covered by the box spring
and mattress.
Above the unfinished wood is 1 ½” of macassar, then the raised panel. ( 44 “
high overall)
Condition: Excellent,
restored (January 2009) with a high gloss French Lacquered finish.
The original mirror shows it's age in an overall manner.
Of course this can be easily replaced ( for an additional fee.)
The bed was professionally enlarged from a European Double bed to
an American Queen size by our expert craftsman.
The conversion job was excellent and is very hard to distinguish without
pointing it out!

Circa late 1920s/ early 30s, France
Glamorous French Art Deco Vanity in solid carved
Mahogany with solid bronze hardware.
Scalloped door, drawers and side cabinet profiles, resting on a bronze
trimmed plinth base.
Full length (original) mirror with a new clear glass center shelf (not yet
shown) that spans the width between the two (original Black Porto) marble topped
side cabinets.
