Art Deco Fireplace Mantle
Made in Italy, just imported from France
Hand carved from solid granite, circa 1920's

Ideal for use as a working or decorative fireplace installation.
The firebox back is finished and in two separate pieces.
It could be left off for installation over an existing working fireplace,
or used as shown for a vent-less situation with faux fire logs or candles,
in an apartment or condo situation where a working fireplace is not possible.
Could be used indoor or outdoors, as this is made from natural stone.
Dresses beautifully for the holidays,
shown below with a French Art Deco Fire Screen we also offer.

Removed from a restaurant on the border of France and Belgium,
this beautiful fireplace was brought from Italy where it was made.
The Italian craftsman who made the fireplace of Italian granite, drove it to the
France/Belgium border and installed it personally in the restaurant, back in the 1920's.

Beautiful granite with colors of beige, grey, taupe, tan and black.
Matte finish with patinated bronze plaques at center over firebox opening and on the corners.

Art Nouveau Antique Architectural Earthenware Plaque with iridescent glaze
Circa 1890-1900, Nancy, France

Rare Figural Architectural plaque removed from a building in Nancy, France, the town where Art Nouveau was created.

This heavy and highly dimensional, sculptural plaque can be incorporated into a tile wall in an entryway, garden or indoor wall fountain, or even as a backsplash or decorative element in a kitchen or bathroom.

The sage green base color has a iridescent glaze that was created during this design movement.

Ceramics were a medium well suited to the Art Nouveau style, since the malleable nature of clay meant that it could easily be molded into the organic, curving and swirling lines of Art Nouveau designs.

This unique plaque offers an opportunity to recycle and preserve a piece of design history, as Art Nouveau was the first original design style of the 20th Century, and a pre-cursor to Art Deco, the first examples of modern design.
